Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop and provide a range of community based supports to individuals and their carers to give them a variety of options to enhance their quality of life.

Objectives

The main objective for which the Community Care Network was established was to provide programs to assist the elderly, the disadvantaged and the disabled.

Principles

To promote the provision of a comprehensive and integrated range of community and home care support services. To assist clients to maintain or enhance their independence in the community. To avoid premature admission to long term residential care. To initiate and sponsor new and differing approaches to planning, co-ordination and service delivery for its programs. To provide advice to Commonwealth and State Ministers on the needs and priorities of clients under relevant welfare programs.

Operating Philosophy

In all its programs, Queensland Community Care Net strives: To ensure that services provided meet community standards, providing the least restrictive alternatives. To seek out appropriate support in identifying and accessing necessary community resources (shops, banks, transport, recreation facilities, etc.). To ensure maximum participation and integration. To enhance client control and independence. To ensure rights of dignity and privacy. To ensure equal opportunity.

Our History

The Queensland Community Care Network Inc. was jointly established in June 1990, by individuals in response to the need to directly provide broad based community services, to people requiring some level of community or home assistance. This was in response to a perceived need of proceeding a generic organisation, not connected to either a religious organisation or alternatively, not focusing on a specific disability or illness area. This enabled services to be delivered to a wider cross section of the community, with due respect to the wide diversity of individual needs, beliefs and values.

To do this effectively, the association has developed a close relationship with people who form our client base, so that their experiences become the basis for all our programs.

Queensland Community Care Network is presently developing branches in Roma, Miles, Dalby, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and throughout Southern Queensland to provide a focus for local care and to support local initiatives.

The association considers that all services provided into the community must be client based and accountable to the consumers it seeks to support.

Queensland Community Care Network is aware that the preservation of health and well being is the key to preventing premature or inappropriate institutionalisation. We see our work as preventative in terms of assisting people to maintain a normal lifestyle.
